Dear Columbia Community,
Three people inside a kosher supermarket in Jersey City, New Jersey, were killed yesterday, and multiple reports have indicated that two of them were members of the Jewish community in Jersey City and the third an immigrant from Ecuador. The attackers also killed a longtime Jersey City police detective.
Early reports in the ongoing investigation indicate a link between the attacks and antisemitic and anti-police views expressed in writings of one of the assailants.
